My Team

MY TEAM

You receiving only the absolute best care during your pregnancy is the driving force behind why I have set up my private practice in the way I have. You will be given a style of curated attention that I would want for my sister. For you, I will accept nothing but the highest standards, the most attentive care and we will work only with those who I have assessed to be at the very top of their game.

Comprehensive pregnancy care must involve the insights and support of a midwife. Over the years, I have worked with many midwives and I have headhunted and begged one of the very best to join my private practice so we can provide you with the ultimate level of care. Polly will be having a crucial influence not only during your pregnancy journey but just importantly, will be there with me to support you as you are adjusting to being a parent of a new baby. Your sessions with her are not instead of but rather in addition to your consultations with me and will be at no out-of-pocket cost to you.

Now, let me tell you some more about the entire team

POLLY DELANEY – MIDWIFE, LACTATION CONSULTANT & REGISTERED NURSE

Polley

Polly is not new to being involved in the delivery of babies nor to personally understanding the challenges of pregnancy and parenthood. Originally from rural NSW, Polly is now well settled in Sydney and has three young children of her own. You will meet with Polly several times throughout your pregnancy where she will workshop topics such as weight gain in pregnancy, diet in pregnancy, exercise in pregnancy and community resources. Polly is also very familiar with the various antenatal classes that are on offer and can help you choose the one that will suit you best. What makes Polly a particularly unique and brilliant resource for you is that she currently works as a midwife on the delivery suite at both the Mater and the Prince of Wales Private hospitals. Guided by this first hand experience, Polly is in a great position to be able to help you prepare for your birth experience, at the hospital of your choice.

Adjusting to being a parent of a new baby can be tough and Polly has your back! She will make sure you have the support and flexibility that is needed to navigate the first few months of parenthood. You will sit down with Polly within one week of having your baby to make sure you are on track and stay that way.  She is particularly passionate about supporting you emotionally and caring for your mental health. She is also a lactation consultant, meaning if you choose to breastfeed, you will have her ongoing support, tips and tricks for as long as you need it.

VIVI LAMA – PATIENT RELATIONS MANAGER

Without doubt the best thing to ever come out of Chile, Vivi and her special style of brilliance will greet you at every appointment. Juggling the appointment book of a busy practice is not easy but Vivi will always do her best to work a plan that suits you and is sympathetic to your busy life. Vivi is a great first point of call for any administrative questions including any issues related to hospital bookings, private insurance cover, fees or certificates. As of December 2021, Vivi has temporarily taken on this role and also happens to be one of my longest and best friends. If you want some goss on me – there is no one better to ask!

DR SIMON KOH – OBSTETRIC ANAESTHETIST

The day of your delivery is a special one and I will not be inviting just anyone to be a part of it. Simon is a brilliant doctor, a very experienced obstetric anaesthetist and is the one who will take or keep your pain away. If you’re having an elective caesarean then it is most likely going to be Simon who will be taking care of you from an anaesthetic point of view. A former life as an aeromedical retrieval anaesthetist (the doctor in the helicopter) means he is particularly talented at making you feel relaxed and safe. He is also a master of the iphone camera and you will come away with an album full of awesome shots of your baby being delivered. Simon will also oversee your post operative pain management, making sure your stay in hospital is comfortable and any side effects from the pain medicines are minimised. If you’re aiming for a vaginal delivery, there is a high chance he will also be the one placing an epidural for you. Simon has a gentle and reassuring presence. He will be contactable by you prior and after your procedure and welcomes any questions.
