If you’re planning a vaginal delivery, you will labour in a spacious and modern suite which has been specifically designed for the comfort and privacy or you and your partner. Each suite has a fully electronic, specifically designed birthing bed as well as its own private bath, allowing you the option of incorporating water immersion into your labour. You will also have your own birth ball, birth mat and birth stool available to you. A TV with a large selection of digital channels and a pull out lounge are also provided for you and your support team.
As a patient of mine at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital, I will be able to constantly monitor your labour via the K2 fetal monitoring system. This is the best and most modern monitoring system available and affords us the safety that I believe you and your baby deserve.

Special Care Nursery
Prince of Wales Private Hospital has a Paediatrician on call 24 hours a day, as well as a fully staffed special care nursery on site. This affords both you and I peace of mind, that your baby has an extra level of safety and care available, if the need arises.
Whether you have a vaginal birth or a caesarean section, once you have had your baby, you will be cared for on the Maternity Ward. At Prince of Wales Private Hospital, the Maternity Ward is designed to provide a comfortable and private environment for you and your partner to get to know your baby. Each room is designed to have your partner stay with you overnight and also includes:
• Freshly cooked meals with menu selection (Vegetarian, Kosher, Diabetic, etc.)
• Private phone line with complimentary local calls
• Bar Fridge
• Complementary TV with movie channels
• Ensuite bathroom with shower
Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach
If you and your baby are suitably well, at your request and based on availability, you will be offered the option to have your postnatal care transferred to the Crown Plaza Coogee Beach. Here you will continue to be cared for by the hospital’s highly qualified and experienced midwifery staff but are able to enjoy the comfort of a private room with beachfront ocean views, room service dining and a large TV complete with Foxtel channels.
The costs of this are covered by most private health insurance funds meaning no extra out of pocket expenses, just extra comfort for you and your visitors. This program is exclusive to Prince of Wales Private Hospital postnatal patients and is one of the many reasons I decided to perform deliveries at this hospital.
There is an underground Metro Car Park accessible from Barker Street or Hospital Road with easy lift access from level B4 to Prince of Wales Private Hospital.
There is a 5 day discounted rate available if obtained on the first day of your admission. As soon as you are admitted, I would advise you to phone Metro Parking on 9326 7233 or visit their office on level B1 to enquire about this.
